In 1984, Queen performed a concert in Sun City, South Africa, leading to their blacklisting by the UN. That same year I visited South Africa for the first time, visiting my cousins. It was taboo in Sweden to admit that you had been to South Africa because of the Anti-Apartheid Movement’s effort to boycott the apartheid regime.

Two years later, Queen held a show in Montreux. I had the opportunity to meet Bryan May at their hotel, where we shared our experiences related to South Africa, which was not so black and white.
