The final photo I captured of Freddie Mercury was at Knebworth Park just outside London. It is said there were more than 200,000 people in the audience. The turnstile broke after admitting 120,000 individuals. This concert was the last one on the 1986 Magic Tour. Which turned out to be the last tour with Freddie Mercury and Queen.
Queen’s manager, Jim “Miami” Beach, invited me to attend. The press photographers were made to leave their camera gear and the photographers pit after just 3 songs. Which meant I had prime position right near the stage all to myself for the rest of the show.
